Tim and Stevie’s Table Tennis Adventure Pt II
How did this Ping Pong ‘thing’ come about?
Well Stevie and I as we often do, say ‘Yes’ to many funny and ridiculous suggestions.
(These suggestions more often than not come from one of us.)
As I remember it, we were just having a casual Table Tennis game when the one of us used the ‘I’ word. This ‘I’ word nearly always means a silly but fun suggestion is about to follow.
The ‘I’ word is ‘Imagine’
“Hey dude, imagine if we entered like, a massive Table Tennis competition, a national championship. I wonder how well we would go.”
(PAUSE…as we think.)
“Do you think we could win a game? A point?”
Within ten minutes we were on the phone to the NSW Table Tennis Association and the idea was set.
For the rest of the Series when we had breaks, our lovely Table Tennis table turned into a training area, our Table Tennis balls came under heavy scrutiny, our computers became vehicles to watch Table Tennis tutorials, discuss tactics and of course learn the games rules and our precious Table Tennis bats were protected so they could always be found when we could afford the time to train. But most of all, Stevie and I had a place at work that we could clear our heads for 10-15 minutes after sets where a lot of line learning had taken place.
So over the last few weeks after filming of Hi-5 Series 12 has concluded Stevie and I have kept this ‘training’ up. We have found ourselves a trainer and I now have the Table Tennis table at my house so we can practise as much as possible and now two months on Tim and Stevie have title this event…
‘Tim and Steive’s Pingety Pongety Adventure’
